UNCG
You can begin or meet in the EUC (student center). Pay per hour parking (Walker Deck) is located across from it. The guided prayer walk is about 1.25 miles long and includes 12 stops. It attempts to circle much of the campus while including key areas to pray for.
About: UNC Greensboro is the third oldest school in the NC public school system. It was founded in 1891 as the women's college for North Carolina. You will see Minerva, the goddess of wisdom, in its logo and as a statue on campus. It has been coed since 1963. There are approximately 20,000 students enrolled in all programs. Its motto is "service" and prides itself on its diversity. UNCG is committed to serving traditionally underserved populations. There are 100,000 alumni who live, work, and make a difference in North Carolina.
1) EUC (student center)
The student center is a hub of student activity. It has dining options, a bookstore, hosts special events, and has rooms that different clubs often use. There are also administration and leadership offices here. The EUC is a place that many students gather for group events, a small group meeting, or even a meal with a friend.
Pray for the administration and leadership as they seek to serve the students. Pray for the different events, socials, and club activities happening here. Pray for followers of Christ as they meet with others to share their faith and grow in discipleship.
2) Bryan School of Business and Economics
The business school is a popular major. It has 20 undergraduate programs and 10 graduate programs. Many adult students take classes part time or online here as well. Students with business degrees often stay in the Triad community and work or start businesses here.
Pray for the faculty as they teach and mentor students. Pray for students to learn to work with excellence, integrity, enthusiasm, and for others good. Pray for God to raise up servant leaders to impact this community with the gospel.
3) School of Education
The school of education is dedicated to developing the next generation of teachers. It graduates 400 educators each year. It has degree programs in special education, elementary education, middle grades education, and secondary education. It also includes library science, counseling, special needs, and school administration.
Pray for students to have the heart and knowledge to serve as educators. Pray for faculty as they shape students perspectives. Pray for them as they serve as teachers impacting local communities by creating life-changing opportunities through education.
4) Humanities (by MHRA)
MHRA hosts a variety of humanities programs such as languages, english, history, and culture classes. Some of its programs have had recent budget cuts. Students also go here for support like the writing center.
Pray for the faculty as many have offices in the building. Pray for students as they become global learners of people and culture. Pray that as they learn they will see God's creativity, presence, and care as people are created in the image of God.
5) Alumni House
The Alumni House hosts special events, weddings, and meetings on campus. Many UNCG alumni live and work in the surrounding counties.
Pray for alumni as they serve and impact their communities locally and around the world. Pray for believing alumni to walk with Christ for a lifetime.
6) Jackson Library (on college ave)
The library is a place for students to seek knowledge. Many students study in small groups here. Commuters kill time relaxing and getting work done here. In addition to research books and resources, there are also computer labs, meeting spaces, and academic support services.
Pray for students as they get work done here alone or in small groups. Pray for students to have the community and academic resources they need to thrive. Pray for knowledge to lead to belief in God.
7) Nursing & Instructional Building
Nursing is one of the school's main majors. It graduates over 300 students each year. This is a new building that provides a variety of learning spaces. It has certificate, undergraduate, masters, and doctoral programs.
Pray for nursing students to gain the knowledge, servant heart, and experience to care well for others. Pray for the students as they often have to balance life, jobs, school, and field work. Pray for them to reflect God's care and healing to the world.
8) Dorms on College Ave (by North Spencer)
There are multiple dorms located along College Avenue (a walking street on campus). North Spencer houses the honors college students. Many students stay on campus their first year, but honors college students also study abroad during their time in college. Additionally, UNCG has many transfer and commuting students.
Pray for the dorms to be places for students to make friendships. Pray for students safety, work, and rest in their dorms. Pray for Bible studies and Christian community in dorms across campus.
9) The Arts (by music school)
UNCG has a rich heritage in the arts. This includes music, theater, dance, and the visual arts. You can visit a show in the UNCG Auditorium, the Witherspoon art museum, or the music building Recital Hall. Some notable alumni came through these programs.
Pray for the students as they try to balance their social, personal, academic, and performance time. Pray for the faculty as they teach and mentor students. Pray for them to understand and direct people to God's glory through their art.
10) Moran Commons and Fountain (by the caf)
The cafeteria is a gathering place for students to have a meal on campus. Also inside the building is a convenience store, student mail service, and a new Esports arena. Outside you will often find groups of students by the fountain.
Pray for all students to have access to food. Pray for social gatherings in the cafeteria, Esports room, and by the fountain. Pray for Christian outreaches and events that often happen outside by the fountain or on the EUC lawn.
11) Athletics (by the tennis courts)
UNCG Athletics competes in the NCAA Southern Conference. They have 15 team sports programs (7 men's and 8 women's team sports).
Pray for the athletics administration, coaches, and support staff. Pray for the athletes safety, academic, and athletic success. Pray for athlete Bible studies and that there would be followers of Christ on each team.
12) Campus Ministries
There are a variety of faith communities at UNCG comprising different religions, churches, and Christian ministries. They seek to serve the spiritual, emotional, and social needs of students.
Pray for students and faculty to recognize the importance of their spiritual life. Pray for opportunities for the gospel of Christ to be shared. Pray for Christian community and growth in college. Pray that God sends people from UNCG to the nations to glorify Him.
